GEORGE LACEY

I was at Saldance for around five years, and it’s safe to say that those five years were absolutely amazing. My time here undoubtedly shaped me as a person, and taught me the importance of hard work, resilience, and to never give up. A fine example of this was tap – I joined at Grade Two, and was so close to giving up on so many occasions, but I managed to get to Grade Five, something I had previously never even imagined of achieving, and a testament to the amazing work of the teachers and their support.

Saldance is so much more than a dance school – you perform in shows, make lasting friendships, grow in confidence, and most importantly, get to be yourself. It continually reinforced my love for theatre and performance, and I have since gone on to graduate with a Theatre degree from the University of Chichester. I am now finding my way as a performance writer, as well as teaching drama to adults with special needs. I will always look back fondly at Saldance, and will always be grateful for the teachers for being so amazing and who helped me become the person I am today.
